INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of History is located in Corfu, on Ioannis Theotoki St. in the centre of Corfu Town. An average of 70 new students register every year, while its teaching and research faculty consist of 22 members of various ranks. The administrative and special teaching staff also help the Department to carry out its task. Undergraduate education is provided at the Department, as are post-graduate studies at the doctoral level.

Regarding the administration of the Department, the main decision-making body is its General Assembly, which consists of all of the tenured faculty (with the exception of those who are on sabbatical) and representatives of the student body. The Department is headed by its President, who is elected, together with a Deputy, for a two-year term.
