DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY

The Department of History has its chair in Corfu. Every year approximately 120-140 new students enroll, while the teaching staff numbers about 22 tenured and non-tenured persons. The Department provides undergraduate studies as well as post-graduate degrees. It is governed by the Head of the Department elected, with his Deputy, for a period of two years.

The supreme governing body of the Department is the General Assembly, in which all the tenured faculty as well as student representatives participate. The current Head of Department, elected for the period 2002-2004, is Professor Dimitrios Tsougarakis and his deputy is Prof. Nikos Karapidakis.
