Ioannis Th. Mazis, Associate Professor at the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting, Member of the Administrative Committee of the Ionian University and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.-London). He is ß graduate of the National Technical University of Athens and the Institute of Geography of the University of Aix-Marseille ╔╔, in Aix-en-Provence (D.E.A. and Doctorat d'Etat in Economic Geography). He teaches Economic Geography, Geopolitics and International Economic Relations.

    He is the author of many articles and scientific books and has organised conferences ´n International Economy and Geopolitics of the Middle East and SE Mediterranean. He is currently completing his work entitled "Political and Economic Islam in modern Turkey". Other significant books of ╔. Mazis are: "Geography of the Islamist movement in the Middle East" (1992), "Geopolitics of Waters in the Middle East: Arabs-Israel-Turkey" (1996).

    He has participated in international conferences ´n the European-Islamic dialogue and in international meetings of similar content, following invitations by Ministries of Foreign or as representative of Greece, in geopolit▀cal issues of the Islamist Movement and Collective Security in SE Mediterranean.
