Laboratories & Infrastructure of History Dept.

Within the Department of History function the following "Laboratories":

- Laboratory of European History

- Laboratory of Documentation

- Laboratory of Modern History of the Greeks in the East

- Laboratory of Auxiliary Disciplines (Palaeography, Numinismatics, Sigillography, Epigraphy)

- Laboratory of Ancient Greek Theatre.

These "Laboratories" aim at the development of scholarly research and the advancement of knowledge in their fields. Their function is based οn the relation between teaching and research and it is oriented towards the support of the undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Department.

 

INFRASTRUCTURE

For the support of its educational and research work the Department has at the disposal of teaching staff and the Laboratories:

- A network of computers, printers, scanners, CD-ROMs, etc.

- Xerox machines

- A reader-printer for microfilms and microfiches, as well as simple microfilm readers

- Slide projectors, overhead projectors, cameras with special lenses etc.

- Video and video projector on large screen

The technical equipment of the Department is being increased continuously.
